Keno was introduced in 200 BC by the Chinese army commander, Cheung Leung who used keno as a financial resource for his declining forces. The metropolis of Cheung was waging a battle, and after some time seemed to be looking at a national shortage of food with the drastic decrease in supplies. Cheung Leung needed to create a fast fix for the financial disaster and to create revenue for his military. He, as it follows created the game we now know as keno and it was a wonderful success.
Keno once was well-known as the White Pigeon Game, because the winning numbers were broadcast by pigeons from bigger cities to the smaller towns. The lotto ‘Keno’ was imported to America in the 19th century by Chinese expatriates who came to the States for jobs. In those times, Keno was played with 120 numbers.
Today, Keno is regularly played with 80 numbers in just about all of the US land based casinos as well as online casinos. Keno is commonly liked today as a result of the relaxed nature of wagering the game and the simple reality that there are no expertise needed to enjoy Keno.
