It will not usually be considered the best game in the arena of wagering, but keno has massive amounts of fanatical players. And why not? It’s a regularly exciting lotto-type game that’s easy to play, readily available in tons of different variations, and one that will return millions of dollars for those who learn its numerous subtle rules. But let’s deal with the beginner’s rules here.

When explaining keno to beginners, some gambling masters compare it to lotto. This is at least tolerably apt, in that both games are generally numerical. However, to take that comparison too far is likely to be to discount the countless unique traits that make keno so entertaining. Not like bingo, keno users have the freedom to choose the numbers for each card.

Keno cards have a total of eighty numbers, but the gambler is given an extra level of personal responsibility by being able to pick as numerous (or as few) numbers as he needs. And it doesn’t take a genius to determine how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all of your handpicked numbers with a good old#2 pencil like you used when you were in grade 3.

After you have marked your numbers, carry your game card back to the clerk at the keno stand. The keno pit manager will record those numbers and then give you a receipt. Make sure no to drop this (potentially) lucrative bit of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your loud shirt and wants help out, without a winning receipt in hand, you will collect exactly $.00 for your winning card.

Ok, there you have strategy #1: always take care to keep your keno slip. Let us move on to something a bit more useful, what do you think?

Once you’ve picked your numbers, get into a comfy keno booth and see the action happen on the big keno monitor. That’s where the winning numbers show up for all to see. If you marked winning numbers, mark your card accordingly. Sake care not to move to slowly, or sit there congratulating yourself for too great a length of time. You want to get up to the keno booth to get your winnings, as a new round of keno will certainly get going within a few minutes.

Strategy number 2: always make sure to get back to the keno stand on time!

Since you don’t trust yourself to beat that five-minute deadline each time, you always retain the option of purchasing a "multi-race" ticket. These include the same set of your selected numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 slips. When the maximum number of rounds (fitting the amount of tickets) is played, you can then get off your numb bum and go redeem your winnings.

Still another option is referred to as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which generally lets you make number choices for thirty rounds or more. Gosh, you can take vacation to Greece and not have to fret about getting back in time to redeem your winnings. Most "stray and play" tickets are good for up to a whole year after it’s purchased!

So now you have learned a couple required schemes for winning keno. If you are a knowledgeable gambler, they might seem incredibly obvious. Still, it does not hurt to study up on the basics, and if you are a newbie gambler, every tiny bit of direction will help make your keno playing more captivating.
